Verified by a person, not a script

A badge on this platform means a founder personally confirmed something true about the guide wearing it. There are four tiers. Nobody skips one.

  1. Tier 1 of 4

    Identity Verified

We confirm this guide is a real person before anything else — a government ID checked against a live photo, reviewed by a founder, not a script.

  2. Tier 2 of 4

    Licence Verified

We call the registry. If Tanzania's tourism board has this guide on file with a current licence number, we confirm it before the badge goes up.

  3. Tier 3 of 4

    Skill Verified

A founder sits down with the guide — route knowledge, safety judgement, and the languages they claim to speak, tested in a real conversation.

  4. Tier 4 of 4

    Founding Guide

Reserved for the first 250 guides who joined the platform. They've been through every tier above and helped shape how verification works.

Why this matters for travellers

You're trusting a stranger with your safety in unfamiliar terrain. A tier badge means someone already did the work of checking who they are, whether they're licensed, and whether they actually know the routes they say they do — before you ever messaged them.

Why this matters for guides

A licensed guide with fifteen years of experience shouldn't rank the same as someone who joined yesterday. The ladder gives real experience a badge that's actually hard to get — not a star rating anyone can inflate.
