About Furaha
Furaha studied heritage conservation in Dar before moving to Bagamoyo to work with the site's restoration trust. She pairs the old slave-trade and German-colonial history in Bagamoyo with a day trip out to the Kilwa Kisiwani ruins for travellers with more time, and finishes city stays with a walk through Dar's mural and gallery scene rather than the usual market loop.

Ireland · Bagamoyo heritage walk · March 2026
Furaha explained the history plainly, including the hard parts. Not a sanitized tour at all.

Brazil · Kilwa Kisiwani day trip · January 2026
Long day but worth it. She'd clearly done this a hundred times and still seemed to love the ruins.
